    • Hey, my name is Brandi (as you can see in my profile), and I'm 15 years old. I'm very interested in posting some of my literature works here and viewing some other member's works. I'm very social, and I love to chat and meet new people (whether they be online buddies, or people I meet in real life). I have a bunch of animals that I love very much, regardless of the time and money it takes to upkeep them. haha

I'm going to be a sophomore in high school this coming September and am looking forward to...getting another year done. xD

Currently I am in the process of improving my drawing skills in the manga/anime department, and enjoying myself very much. I would have to give much thanks to my boyfriend for teaching me and being extremely patient through all the questions and corrections on several tid bits here and there I constantly ask for. You can view some of his artwork (providing he starts to update a bit more ;]) here: and my own account which contains some poetry [that I will probably post here as well] and various other works, here:

As far as my actual writing goes, poetry is my choice of literature for the most part. The main subjects I hit are love, drugs, addiction and death. Yes, true; all are very powerful subjects, but yet subjects I can either relate to very well or feel strongly about. I hope to improve in my writing, eventually being able to capture the understanding of others to feel the emotion within poetry that I create as much as I try to portray it. Always I am constantly learning, whether it be with my writing skills, drawing, or life's lessons itself, but hey, I can't say I don't enjoy every second of it.<3

        • Some books that I really enjoy are...

[x] The Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer
[x] No Place Like Home by Mary Higgins Clark (still in the process of reading, but enjoying it so far)
[x] Death Note (the novel) by Nisioisin
[x] Various manga books I have started, but have not finished...but some of my favorites so far from what I did happen to read of them were:

[-] Zombie-Loan by Peach-Pit; Banri Sendo and Shibuko Ebara
[-] Death Note by writer Tsugumi Ohba and illustrator Takeshi Obata
[-] MeruPuri by Matsuri Hino (only need to read the last one! ^__^)
[-] Dark Edge by Yu Aikawa (very...interesting...haha, from what I read)
          [-] Hellsing by Kouta Hirano

...and a few more I have probably read, err, started...but I don't recall them at ze moment.

        • I love comedy; give me something that makes me laugh, and most likely, it's now one of my favorite movies. O___o At any rate, comedy or not, below are some I have watched and liked very much...

...once again, probably some more I can't think of right now...

        • My two favorite cartoon illustrators I have found to love so far is no other than my boyfriend, Dylan, and Mark Crilley.

        • So many poems I have come to like and love. One famous poet, Robert Frost, wrote two poems I like very much, however. One being "The Road Not Taken" and the other, "Fire and Ice". I am also fond of a few by Edgar Allan Poe, some being "The Raven", "To One Departed", and "A Dream Within a Dream". Another poem I have read that I liked very much so is one called "Roses for Rose". This is how it goes -

Red roses were her favorites; her name was also Rose,
And every year her husband sent them tied with pretty bows.
The year he died the roses were delivered to her door,
The card said "Be My Valentine" like all the years before.

Each year he sent her roses and the note would always say,
"I love you even more this year than last year on this day,
My love for you will always grow with every passing year,"
She knew this was the last time that the roses would appear.

She thought he ordered roses in advance before this day,
Her loving husband did not know that he would pass away.
He always liked to do things early way before the time,
Then if he got too busy everything would work out fine.

She trimmed the stems and placed them in a very special vase,
Then sat the vase beside the portrait of his smiling face.
She would sit for hours in her husband's favorite chair,
While staring at his picture and the roses sitting there.

A year went by and it was hard to live without her mate,
With loneliness and solitude that had become her fate.
Then the very hour as on Valentines before,
The doorbell rang and there were roses sitting by her door.

She brought the roses in and then just looked at them in shock,
Then went to get the telephone to call the florist shop.
The owner answered and she asked him if he would explain,
Why would someone do this to her causing her such pain?

"I know your husband passed away more than a year ago,"
The owner said, "I knew you'd call and you would want to know."
"The flowers you received today were paid for in advance,
Your husband always planned ahead he left nothing to chance."

"There is a standing order that I have on file down here,
And he has paid well in advance you'll get them every year."
"There also is another thing that I think you should know,
He wrote a special little card he did this years ago."

"Then should ever I find out that he's no longer here,
That's the card that should be sent to you the following year."
She thanked him and hung up the phone her tears now flowing hard,
Her fingers shaking as she slowly reached to get the card.

Inside the card she saw that he had written her a note,
Then as she stared in total silence this is what he wrote.
Hello my love I know it's been a year since I've been gone,
I hope it hasn't been too hard for you to overcome.

I know it must be lonely and the pain is very real,
For if it was the other way I know how I would feel.
The love we shared made everything so beautiful in life,
I loved you more than words can say you were the perfect wife.

You were my friend and lover you fulfilled my every need,
I know it's only been a year but please try not to grieve.
I want you to be happy even when you shed your tears,
That is why the roses will be sent to you for years.

When you get these roses think of all the happiness,
That we had together and how both of us were blessed.
I have always loved you and I know I always will,
But my love you must go on you have some living still.

Please try to find happiness while living out your days,
I know it is not easy but I hope you find some ways.
The roses will come every year and they will only stop,
When your door's not answered when the florist stops to knock.

He will come five times that day in case you have gone out,
But after his last visit he will know without a doubt,
To take the roses to the place where I've instructed him,
And place the roses where we are together once again.

          -- James A. Kisner

...awesome poem in my opinion. =D

        • I'm constantly on a few websites, mainly being two. haha

          ...yep. =P

        • If this means basically people who have changed my life...then I shall explain a bit below.

[x] My boyfriend, Dylan; if I can't explain in words how much ya mean to me face to face, how does someone expect meh to do it all typed out?! *sigh* You mean more to me than I ever could express in infinity and a day. Knowing me and trying to explain my emotions straight up, ehh, I best save even the trying to explain for another day. <33

[x] My mother; you've always been there for me in my earlier years and even now. I couldn't thank you enough for all you've done for me...and all you put up with. o.o

...yep, ze two people that come to mind first.

        • Ohmywow...quotes, to me, are similar to my love for music. haha I have so many, but I will only name my absolute favorites below. =)

          All time favorites:

[x] You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly. -- Sam Keen

[x] I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. -- Roy Croft

[x] Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. --Abraham Lincoln

[x] I love you, and because I love you, I would sooner have you hate me for telling you the truth than adore me for telling you lies. -- Pietro Aretino

[x] No matter how smart you are, you spend much of your day being an idiot. -- Scott Adams

...and I'll add more when I feel like making 'em all nice an organized. o.O

        • Hmmm, not sure...I may add to this later.

        • [x] drawing (mainly manga/anime)
[x] writing (poetry, occasional story...very occassional)
[x] photography (always has interested me, but I kinda fell outta the loop recently, well, the past year basically, like to get back into it though)
[x] ...enjoying my life? haha, yep, I'd kinda consider that one a hobby of mine. o.o It's awesome, yesh, yesh it is. ^__^
